APATHY

Apathy: “lack of interest, enthusaism or concern”

How to be an Anti-Knight

  • Do nothing

  • Stay home

  • Don’t care about others

  • Don’t be social

  • Don’t LIVE your Faith

  • Don’t reach out to those in need

  • Don’t do good deeds

  • Don’t join in to be a part of something that makes a difference

  • Forget about what it means to be a Catholic

  • Be comfortable, at home, on the couch watching TV/eating potato chips

  • Forget about being blessed, thankful, sharing

  • Convince yourself that not harming others is equivalent to helping others

  • Think that going to mass – quietly and privately – is enough to make you a good Catholic

  • Ignore the poverty, the suffering, the loneliness, the ignorance, and the want all around you

  • Don’t be a role model for the younger generation

  • Don’t stand up for the unborn and the dignity of all human life

  • Assume you are the best Catholic you can be already with no room for improvement and no need for others to lead or inspire

  • Ignore the four degrees of the Knights of Columbus – charity, unity, fraternity, and patriotism… been there/done that

  • Avoid bonding with high-minded Catholic men, committed to the words of Christ, with good will and good intentions

  • Be an island, not a river

  • Believe charity is just checks, not deeds

  • Let others do the work

  • Isolate

  • Be a hermit Catholic

  • Make excuses

  • Stay home

  • Do nothing
