CALLING WOMEN OF FAITH

WOMEN’S “DAY OF REFLECTION”/RELIGIOUS RETREAT

SATURDAY, JULY 22, 10 A.M. – 3 P.M. IN SHERWOOD, MD

The Regina Coeli Council of the Knights of Columbus of Saints Peter and Paul Parish will conduct the second of its three “Days of Reflection”/religious retreats in 2023 -- this one is for women who are family and friends of Regina Coeli Knights and/or SSPP parishioners.

The theme of the “Day of Reflection”/religious retreat is:

BUILDING THE KINGDOM OF GOD: A WOMEN’S RETREAT

This will be a journey through selected parables of the Kingdom of God. What clues and secrets does Jesus have to share with us as women about the Kingdom of God? How are we uniquely called to abide in God’s love and

Kingdom? We will spend a day surrounded by God’s beautiful creation on the Eastern Shore, meditating on scripture, discussing the richness of Jesus’ parables, listening to the voice of the Good Shepherd, soaking in God’s unique love for us and sharing in the fellowship of a community of women of faith.

The most important goal of the retreat is to enrich the relationship between Christ and the retreatant through scripture, prayer, and reflection.

The WOMEN’S retreat will be led by Amy de Bernardo of Fairfax, VA. Ms. de Bernardo is an elementary catechist in the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd program at the Renaissance Montessori School in Nokesville, VA.

Prior to this, Amy was the Director of Faith Formation at Our Lady of Good Counsel Parish in Vienna, VA after serving in a similar capacity at a parish in southern New Jersey. Amy’s degree in Theological Studies is from Saint Louis University, and her Masters in Theology is from the University of Notre Dame.

There is no cost to the participants in the retreat, and a lunch will be provided courtesy of the Regina Coeli Council of the Knights of Columbus. “Regina Coeli” is Latin for “Queen of Heaven.” May Mary bless and protect us all.

Reminder: the third and final “Day of Reflection”/religious retreat for 2023 will be held Saturday, September 2 from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. in

Sherwood, a men’s retreat led by Father William Ryan, a Washington Dioscesan priest who has been a missionary in Togo, West Africa since 2006.

For where two or three gather together in My name, there am I in the midst of them.
