Saints Peter and Paul Goes to Annapolis To Defend All Human Life
Wet and cold, but undaunted, Saints Peter and Paul High School students, Knights of Columbus, and parishioners provided some vocal, committed -- and very Catholic -- support for the unborn at the Maryland March For Life in Annapolis on February 27.
Led by the Saints Peter and Paul High School's head of the Department of Theology Alex Pool (who also is a Knight), 19 high school students and 18 Knights/parishioners, including Grand Knight Max Cerna and his family, took a bus from our parish to the event. Additional Knights and parishioners participated but provided their own transportation, rather than take the bus rented by the Regina Coeli Council of the Knights of Columbus and Saints Peter and Paul High School.
Besides participating in the prayer vigil and the march to the Capitol, the SSPP contingent listened to the speakers and visited with our State Senator Johnny Mautz (who also is a Knight in our parish).
In addition, Alex Pool and high schooler Mikie McHale appeared on the EWTN cable television show "Pro-Life Weekly" hosted by Prudence Robertson prior to the March to discuss our parish's actions in support of the unborn, "giving them a voice and defending life" to our legislators, as Pool advocated.
Other Pro-Life activities are planned, but Pool, the Knights of Columbus, and the parish are targeting in particular a much greater presence and involvement in the National March For Life on January 19, 2024. All will be welcome.
"For where two or three are gathered together in My name, there am I in the midst of them."
Matthew 18:20
Pray for the unborn and their parents.
