NOTE: Officers’ Meetings (open to all Knights, free-flow discussion of initiatives, proposals, and programs) are normally on the first Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m. in the Family Life Center… Membership Meetings (broader meetings, more formal, votes on proposals and appropriations, social hour afterwards) are normally the second Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m. in the Family Life Center.

  • Saturday, April 15, 10 a.m.-3 p.m. – Men’s Day of Reflection/Religious Retreat in Sherwood led by Deacon Mike Piehler from California

  • Friday, April 28 – Announcement of Essay Contest related to patriotism and tied to Memorial Day with scholarships for 10th-grade Saints Peter and Paul High School students (“Discuss one day in American history when members of our military paid the ultimate sacrifice for our country and to preserve our way of life. What does it mean to you?”)

  • Friday, April 28 – Announcement of Essay Contest related to Christianity with scholarships for 9th-grade Saints Peter and Paul High School students (“Jesus expressed His command of charity to us, telling us “to love one another.” Explain how and why we should give of ourselves to others in this life.”)

  • Tuesday, May 9, 7 p.m. – Membership Meeting

  • Friday, May 12 – Student essays are due to teachers at Saints Peter and Paul High School. A committee of teachers in theology score the 9th-grader essays and select the top seven for submission to the Knights of Columbus. A committee of teachers in social studies do the same for the essays of the 10th-graders.

  • Saturday, May 13, 5:30 p.m. – Mothers’ Day carnation distribution at SSPP and SM Masses

  • Saturday, May 13, 5:30 p.m. – Membership development presentation, Saint Michael Mission Church

  • Sunday, May 14, 8, 8:30, and 10:30 a.m. – Mothers’ Day carnation distribution at SSPP, SM, and SJ Masses

  • Sunday, May 14, 8 a.m. – Membership development presentation, Saint Joseph Mission Church

  • Friday, May 19 – The top seven essays, with the names of the students redacted, for each of the two grades involved in the Essay Contest are submitted to the Knights of Columbus for judging.

  • Tuesday, May 23 – A panel of Knights of Columbus judges completes the scoring and grading of essays and determines the three top essays for each of the two grades involved.

  • Friday, June 2 -- Essay contest winners are announced at Saints Peter and Paul at a school assembly
